Today, the plenary part of the International Conference on the theme “Strategy of Action and Strong Social Policy: International Practice and Experience of Uzbekistan” was opened in Tashkent organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the All-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ERC-ITUC), the International Organization of Employers (IOE), the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU).
From Kazakhstan participation in this international conference was accepted by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Tokhanov who delivered a report on some features of Kazakhstan’s social policy.
On April 24, participants traveled to Samarkand, Tashkent, Bukhara, Khorezm regions to familiarize themselves with the socio-economic situation, health, education, social infrastructure, construction of affordable housing, the activities of citizens’ self-government bodies, working conditions in the workplace.
On April 26, the conference will continue its work in the format of panel discussions to develop proposals for the Recommendations of the Conference.
On the same day, a meeting of the leadership of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan, the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan and the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, under the auspices of the International Labor Organization’s Workers’ Bureau (ACTRAV) on «The Century Initiative concerning the Future sphere of work – View of trade unions» will be held. It is expected that a joint statement of heads of trade union centers of the Central Asian countries will be adopted.
