During the working trip to Zhambyl region, the delegation of the FTURK headed by Chairman Satybaldy Dauletalin also met with the labor collectives of a number of farms in the village named after Bauyrzhan Momyshuly of the Zhualy district.
The meeting was held on the basis of the farm “Zhaiyk”. On 700 hectares, farm workers grow grain crops – wheat, barley. For the first time in 21 years of the existence of the Zhaiyk Farm, a primary trade union organization was created. Talking about their activities, the members of the agrarian “primary” shared their problems.
According to them, at the beginning of sowing operations in recent years, farmers are faced with an urgent problem – the poor quality of purchased agricultural machinery. Villagers do not have enough money to buy expensive combines.
“It is difficult to call the activity of our farms a business. Our income hardly covers the cost of components and equipment, which is getting more expensive every season. And the quality of agricultural machinery offered on the market is very low, sometimes it fails in two weeks. In order for agriculture to develop, it is necessary to invest in it,” say the workers of peasant farms.
However, in their opinion, the program of subsidizing the agro-industrial complex leaves much to be desired.
“Kazagrofinance, Damu and second-tier banks are intermediaries who earn money by transferring money from the state to farmers. We need a specialized agricultural bank that will work directly with agricultural enterprises. We ask for the assistance of the Federation of Trade Unions in resolving this issue,” the head of the farm Zhaiyk” Seit Zhaiykov addressed the leadership of the FTURK.
According to agricultural workers, another equally important problem in rural areas is the shortage of personnel.
“Young people in the village do not linger, even after studying at college for machine operators, young people try not to return to villages, go to big cities,” the villagers complain.
After listening to the requests of farm workers, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin assured the agrarians that their requests would be brought to the social partners at the republican level.
“You talk not only about problems, but also suggest ways to solve them. We are ready to discuss your proposals with our social partners – the Ministry of Agriculture and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many state programs should be discussed not only in high offices, but also take into account the opinions of people from the plough,” Satybaldy Dauletalin shared his vision.
In the near future, workers of peasant farms of the Zhualy district of the Zhambyl region intend to submit to the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan an appeal with specific issues of the rural agenda.
