On Tuesday, November 22, the subregional Academy of Labor in the field of sustainable development “Policy and actions of trade unions in the field of sustainable development” began its work in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Among the participants of the training are delegations from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Uzbekistan. The training is organized by the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization.
The Academy participants include representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Deputy Chairman of the FTURK Zhumageldieva G.A., Head of the Department of the FTURK Kenzhebulat S.K., chairmen of branch trade unions Esengazin H.Sh., Abishev A.G., Deputy Chairman of the branch trade union Muratalieva G.A., representative of the Territorial union of trade unions of Pavlodar region Ivanova M.A..
Sergeyus Glovackas, Head of the Department of Europe and Central Asia of ACTRAV/ILO, addressed the participants of the training with a greeting. He noted that the training seminars held earlier via video link continued in an offline format.
In turn, the senior specialist in working with workers of the ILO Bureau for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Gocha Alexandria, in his welcoming speech noted: “The world should not only be sustainable for decades, but also fair.”
The participants of the training reviewed the Sustainable Development Goals, discussed the Agenda for the period up to 2030, which includes the creation of a greener, safer and better future and the involvement of trade unions in the implementation of SDG 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”. And also took part in the section on forecasting “Sustainable development in my country”.
The first of a series of trainings ended with interactive sessions with the participation of international experts Evelyn Toth and Tatiana Shaburova.
