Today in Astana at the session of Dialogue among women of Central Asia countries Chairman of Trade Unions Federation of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin met with his Turkmen colleague, Chairman of National trade union center of Turkmenistan Akdzhemal Durdyeva.
The parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation between the National Trade Union Centers, shared their views on the current trade union agenda, and outlined plans.
Akdjemal Durdyeva reported on the work of the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan. The National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan consists of 14 sectoral and 5 territorial associations of trade unions with a total number of more than one million workers.
The Chairman of the FTURK told about the activities of the National Trade Union Center of Kazakhstan on the protection of trade union members’ rights, shared his vision of the prospects for international and regional cooperation of trade union associations.
As Secretary General of the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asia, Satybaldy Dauletalin suggested that the Chairman of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, Akdzhemal Durdyeva, consider acceding the Turkmen National Center to the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asia.
“The doors of the Council are open. I hope that in the near future all of us – members of CCATU together with the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan will develop our common sub-regional organization, protecting the rights and interests of 15 million workers of the Central Asian region,” said Satybaldy Dauletalin.
In turn, Akdjemal Durdyeva noted that the issue of joining the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan to CCATU is relevant and under consideration.
At the end of the meeting the Chairman of the FTURK invited his Turkmen colleague to attend the IV Meeting of the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asia, which is scheduled for this fall in Kazakhstan.
