Bolat Zhumabekov, Chairman of the Trade Union Center of the Karaganda Region, noted the increasing role of trade union leaders in stabilizing conflict situations in labor collectives. He told the seminar participants about the results of the seminar-meeting “Social and Labor Policy of Companies: Experience and Development Prospects” held in Karaganda on November 13 of this year, where they discussed issues of labor relations regulation, prevention of collective labor disputes in organizations, participation of trade union organizations in collective bargaining relationships with employers, the development of corporate social responsibility of business, the work of the sectoral commission in the mining and metallurgical industry, social Grado-forming enterprises of Kazakhstan.
Lecturer Gulnara Orakbaeva – Legal Advisor of the Industry Trade Union of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an accredited trainer on EOSH (Safety and Labor Protection) of the International Labor Organization conducted training on the fundamentals of labor law, social partnership, collective agreement as the main regulatory tool labor relations, theoretical skills to resolve labor disputes, the creation and operation of the conciliation, etc. and the prospecting commission.
During the seminar, practical exercises were conducted on modeling the process of resolving labor disputes through a conciliation commission. The newly elected chairmen of the primary trade union organizations studied the introduction of office work, gained knowledge of the basics of labor law for application in practical trade union activities.
