On December 2, 2018, the 4th World Congress of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) opened under the slogan “Change the rules” in Copenhagen (Kingdom of Denmark). The Congress, which is held every four years, is attended by 1,200 delegates from more than 130 countries, including from the Republic of Kazakhstan. On the first day of the Congress, a meeting of the ITUC General Council is held. At plenary meetings, amendments to the ITUC Articles of Association are discussed and adopted; The main debates are held in the four main areas of activity of the Confederation, set out in the Congress Statement: Peace, Democracy and Rights; Regulation of economic influence; Global Shifts – Fair Transition; Equality.
A delegation from Kazakhstan takes part in the work of the ITUC. On the margins of the international Congress, representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan hold meetings, consultations, and establish communication with trade union leaders.
Issues of joint cooperation and unification of efforts to protect and represent the interests of employees were raised during the dialogue of the FTURK Chairman Bakytzhan Abdіrayim and Chairman of the United Trade Union of Georgia Irakli Petriashvili.
The format of joint cooperation and increased interaction were discussed in a conversation with Turkish colleagues and the Head of the Confederation of Trade Unions “Turkey Kamu Sen” Ahmet Demirci.
