Annual International Conference “Occupational Health and Safety” was held for the sixth time in Astana.
By tradition, before the conference, the guests got acquainted with the exhibition, which presented the new equipment, devices and protective equipment to ensure safety. More than 40 companies from Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and China have demonstrated the products, in accordance with new technologies providing the public and industrial security.
According to the Health and Social Development Minister of Kazakhstan, for the past 10 years, Kazakhstan has almost twice as decreased industrial injuries.
FPRK Chairman stressed that for the first time in the Labour Code introduced the institution of “production Council on labor safety and protection.” Decisions of the works council are binding on the employer and the employee. Thus, there is a real opportunity to trade union participation in the improvement of working conditions.
However, there are facts of delaying to establish production councils procedures. Heads of such entities should take the discussed problem seriously.
