On September 7, 2018, a retreat session on mediation was held in Atyrau, organized by the Committee on Constitutional legislation and the judicial system of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Representative from the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tokzhanov Marat Lukpanovich, has made a report “The role of mediation in the system of labor relations”. Based on 17 trade unions territorial organizations, 4 centers of the parties’ conciliation and 13 chambers of mediation were created. Within the framework of the memorandum between the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan joint work is carried out by professional mediators of the FPRK and courts on settling labor, social and other disputes.
Issues of quality of training and qualification of mediators, definition of the authorized State body-coordinator on mediation and improvement of the legislation on mediation were discussed at the meeting.
