In Astana, at a meeting of the executive committee of the industry trade union of health workers “Senim”, it was decided to issue personalized scholarships to students of medical universities and colleges.
The trade union scholarship will be issued to students regardless of the form of tuition. The size of the scholarship will be equal to the current size of the state scholarship, and this is 24,050 tenge.
For the first time in the practice of the activities of industry trade unions in the field of health care, a decision was made on social support for students of medical universities and colleges who become ill with tuberculosis and are on outpatient treatment. Funds will be used to improve the nutrition of students and to reimburse travel expenses to the clinic for treatment.
In Kazakhstan, tuberculosis remains a socially significant disease that requires a patient to remain on treatment for a long time, as well as to ensure proper nutrition. Today, all regions provide social support for patients with tuberculosis. At the same time, students are a socially vulnerable category in need of such support.
