The branch of Astana, the Kazakhstan Branch Union of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Information, held a meeting of the Executive Committee and the Council dedicated to discussing the Message of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev “Growing Kazakhstan Welfare: Improving Income and Quality of Life” and pressing issues of optimizing subordinate organizations and wage industry workers.
Workers in the sphere of culture and sports are very pleased with the upcoming socio-economic changes voiced by Yelbasy, contributing to the growth and prosperity of the country’s economy. At the same time, despite the increase in the minimum wage and income tax cuts for workers who do not have a high category and length of service since January 1, 2019, the income level of workers in the industry remains one of the lowest and does not correspond to economic reality.
– Undoubtedly, an increase in basic salary (BDO) would solve many problems for cultural and sports workers by 1.5-2 times and would serve as the best motivation for raising the level of professional skills and attracting young personnel, among which there is an element of personnel turnover, first of all, due to low wages, – Svetlana Imankulova emphasized in her speech.
The issue of optimization also affects a number of subordinate organizations in Astana, among them a number of museums and archives. However, in the long term, this process concerns not ordinary workers, but administrative staff, who will also be employed and thus not a single specialist in this field will be left without work.
The preliminary results of the reporting and election meetings in the primary trade union organizations were summed up, which should be completed before the end of this year.
A decree was adopted on the preparation of a plan of events dedicated to the year of youth announced by the President of the country, with the aim of rejuvenating and strengthening the trade union ranks of the industry.
