The delegation of FPRK took part in the thematic forum “Decent work in the era of digitalization”, which was held within the framework of the 108th session of the ILO International labour conference in Geneva.
The forum discussed important issues of the labor sphere in the era of rapid development of digital technologies. Speakers of the forum noted that the sphere of labor is changing. Thus, it was noted that such a large company as Uber is a vivid example of the impact of digitalization processes on the sphere of labor relations. In this company, employees are both employees and contractors. Considering the issues of civilisation of the sphere of labor on the example of Uber, the speakers consider it necessary to pay attention to the fact that in fact a significant profit of such large companies is formed by databases, the so-called Big Data (big data). In this regard, it should be recognized that employees of this company have the right to participate in the management of the company, in the management of digital capital, digital data, as drivers of Uber also have direct access to the digital component of labor.
The only way out of this situation of uncertainty of the legal status of employees, as noted by the speakers of the forum, is proportional ownership of data. Workers who work directly with the data must know how the data is used.
Trade unions, recognizing the need to develop digital technologies and digitalize all spheres of social relations, believe that it is impossible to break the link between workers and employers, as the mission of trade unions, regardless of the changes that are taking place, is the provision of decent work, protection of workers ‘ rights, consistent collective bargaining, social insurance and training of workers, and much more.
