Іn the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting of the Chairperson of the FPRK, Eraly Tugzhanov, with the Director of the European Committee of the International Education Organization Susan Flocken, as well as the expert of the international organization Valeria Desfayne, took place.
From the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Egemberdiev, Deputy Chairman of the FPRK, Mayra Amantayeva, Chairman of the Industry Trade Union of Education and Science Workers, Chairman of the FPRK Committee for Social and Economic Relations and Social Partnership Gulnara Zhumageldieva also took part in the meeting.
Welcoming foreign guests, the head of the FPRK informed about the current state and prospects of development of the trade union movement in Kazakhstan.
In particular, measures were taken by the trade unions in conjunction with social partners to develop the trade union movement and modernize the labor sphere.
– Today in Kazakhstan a reliable social partnership has been established, which is a guarantee of security and confidence in the future of the working people of our country. The General, 20 industry, 16 regional agreements and more than 92 thousand collective agreements were concluded. Of these, over 17 thousand collective agreements were concluded at the enterprises of the republic where trade unions operate, the coverage is 98%. With the participation of trade unions, 24 conventions of the International Labor Organization have been ratified, emphasized E. Tugzhanov.
The FPRC Chairman also informed foreign experts about trade union initiatives in the field of developing social partnerships, improving labor laws, strengthening social dialogue in the field of labor and the implementation of youth policies by unions.
Special emphasis was placed on issues of international cooperation. As Eraly Tugzhanov emphasized, representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions take part in international trade union activities. On the site of the Federation of Trade Unions, meetings are held with international trade union organizations, cooperation agreements are signed with 16 national trade union associations.
Representatives of the European Committee of Education Trade Unions praised the initiatives of the trade union movement in Kazakhstan, expressing their willingness to develop mutual cooperation.
In this context, ways of further cooperation were discussed, including the exchange of information on the development and implementation of projects and programs, joint scientific research in the field of protecting the rights of teachers and other measures.
As a sign of commitment to the development of a constructive partnership, the Chairperson of the FPRK handed over the book “Trade Unions: Theory and Practice” to foreign colleagues.
The meeting participants expressed their readiness for long-term cooperation of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the European Committee of Education Trade Unions.
