As part of the campaign “How do you live, Primary?”, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Nurlan Uteshev met with members of the primary trade union organization of the Sairam-Ugam State National Natural Park.
The online meeting was attended by Chairman of the Trade Union Center of the Turkestan region Omirali Berdigali, Chairman of the Turkestan regional branch of the Branch Trade Union of Forestry and Wildlife Workers Sapargali Shaldanbayev, head of the Sairam-Ugam State National Natural Park Kanat Pilalov and chairman of the primary trade union organization of the institution Aigerim Zhankonysova.
Sairam-Ugamsky Nature Park is located in the north-eastern part of the western Tien Shan and is represented by the mountain ranges – Ugamsky, Karzhantau, Kazygurt and Boraldaytau. The park was created in 2006 through the merger of the Ugam, Tolebi and Tulkubas state institutions for the protection of forests and wildlife.
There are 1,635 plant species on the territory of the Sairam-Ugam SNNP where 62 species are listed in the Red Book. The park is home to 59 species of animals and about 300 species of birds.
The primary trade union organization of the park is a part of the Turkestan regional branch of the Branch Trade Union of Forestry and Wildlife Workers.
According to the chairman of the primary trade union organization Aigerim Zhankonysova, 109 people work in the state park, all of them are members of the trade union.
Labor relations between employers and employees are based on the principles of social partnership within the framework of a collective agreement. Aigerim Zhankonysova told the participants about the measures of social support for employees provided for by the collective agreement.
Chairman of the branch of the Branch Trade Union of Forestry and Wildlife Workers Sapargali Shaldanbayev highly appreciated the work of the Sairam-Ugam State National Natural Park and the FTURK primary trade union organization including the development of social partnership and protection of the interests of employees.
He also noted the special significance of the action of the FTURK “How are you living, primary?” and expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Federation of Trade Unions for the active support of the primary link.
During the meeting, an open dialogue was held, during which the employees of the national park received answers to their questions. Many questions related to the health improvement of employees.
Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Nurlan Uteshev, in turn, told the participants about the new educational project of the FTURK “Get treated and learn!”. He noted that the new project, implemented on the basis of the capital’s rehabilitation center “Adal Niet Astana”, is aimed not only at improving the health of trade union members, but also at improving their skills.
“Within the framework of the project, trade union members receive treatment for 10 days and undergo a 10-hour course on 10 different topics. Today, the educational and wellness project is operating in a pilot mode. In the future, we plan to spread this experience in the health resorts of the FTURK, ” he said.
Summing up the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions noted the positive results of the work of the primary trade union organization and, in general, the branch of the Branch Trade Union.
Nurlan Uteshev focused on the implementation of the tasks set out in the FTURK Activity Strategy for 2020-2025.
In particular, he spoke about the initiatives of the Federation of Trade Unions in the field of improving wages, including increasing the minimum wage, legislating the indexation of wages of employees of all forms of ownership, ratifying the Convention No. 131 WLO and other important aspects of protecting the interests of a Person at work.
