THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE FTURK EDUCATIONAL MARATHON RECEIVED SKILLS IN CONDUCTING THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS AND RESOLVING LABOR CONFLICTS

The educational marathon of the FTURK on improving the skills of conducting the negotiation process continued its work within the framework of a seminar with the participation of the professional asset of Almaty and Almaty region.

Opening the seminar, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Nurlan Uteshev noted the importance of implementing educational projects of the FTURK.

“The Federation of Trade Unions continues the cycle of training seminars. Today, such a seminar is organized for the trade union activists of the city of Almaty and the Almaty region. The issues of raising the professional level of professional assets and improving the legal culture of trade union personnel are the priorities of the Federation of Trade Unions, outlined in the Strategy of the FTURK for 2020-2025 “In unity for justice and development”, – said the Deputy Chairman of the FTURK.

In the context of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, issues of legal regulation of remote work have become particularly important for employees.

The Director of the Department of Legal Support and International Cooperation Timur Nugmanov informed the participants about this in his speech.

The speaker focused on the latest changes and additions to the labor legislation of Kazakhstan aimed at improving and regulating labor relations related to remote work.

In particular, he gave explanations on such new standards as the exclusion of the requirement to specify a workplace in an employment contract; the establishment of remote work on the initiative of an employee or employer within the framework of an agreement of the parties, with the exception of emergencies, emergencies, quarantine and other restrictive measures; clarification of the procedure for sending an employee on a business trip who are on remote work and other provisions.

Marina Ivanova, Head of the Reconciliation Center of the Trade Union Center of the Pavlodar Region, conducted a review of judicial practice on resolving labor disputes using specific examples.

A number of the presented cases are based on the issues of the employer’s responsibility for late payment of wages, the resolution of a labor dispute on the issue of reinstatement at work and other situations.

One of the strategic directions of the Federation of Trade Unions is the development of social partnership.

The head of the Department of the Committee on Strategic Environmental Assessment and the Joint Venture of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aizhan Ibraeva highlighted the issues of collective and contractual regulation in her speech.

She informed the participants about the social partnership system in the Republic of Kazakhstan and spoke about the process of developing and signing collective agreements.

Along with this, the mechanisms for the implementation of the collective agreement, as well as methods of collective bargaining and other aspects of strengthening social partnership were announced.

“The collective agreement is one of the important tools for the effective protection of labor rights and interests of employees in the social partnership system,” Aizhan Ibraeva stressed.

At the end of the seminar, an exchange of views on the presented topics took place, during which the participants received answers to their questions.

Recall that the educational marathon was launched on the initiative of the FTURK from June 21 this year. Within the framework of the campaign, more than 240 training seminars were held with the participation of trade union activists from all sectors and regions of the country.
