As part of the republican campaign “How are you, primary?”, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan Nurlan Uteshev met with the newly formed primary trade union organization “QazServiceGroup”.
Opening the meeting, the chairman of the Trade Union Center Altynbek Amirgaliyev noted the importance of the action launched by the FTURK in the Year of the primary trade union organization in order to familiarize with the current social and labor situation of ordinary workers and discuss topical issues of concern to labor collectives.
QazServiceGroup LLP, provides billing services to KazTransGas LLP, a gas supplier in the Aktobe region. The primary trade union organization at the enterprise was created recently, it became part of the Aktobe regional branch of the “Branch Trade Union of Builders and Housing and Communal Services”. The number of members of the primary trade union organization is 120 people.
The company employs more than a hundred supervisors from 12 districts of the region and 5 facilities in Aktobe, which are fully gasified.
In January of this year, supervisors went to protest actions, expressing dissatisfaction with the low level of salaries. The company’s employees receive a salary of 60 thousand tenge per month, while incurring travel expenses of 7 thousand tenge per month. Every month during the week, each controller must deliver gas receipts to 1,500 subscribers.
These and other problematic issues of employees during the meeting were voiced by the chairman of the primary trade union organization Aigul Zhantulesova.
“Currently, due to the growth of the city’s population, the number of subscribers is increasing. However, despite the increased workload, wages are not increasing. For this reason, we have created a trade union to protect our labor rights,” Aigul Zhantulesova said.
Currently, the company is considering the possibility of concluding a collective agreement with the employer. As part of the work on the collective agreement, it is planned to provide for the prevention of labor disputes, compliance with labor safety standards, ensuring fair and timely payment of wages and the necessary social guarantees.
In turn, the chairman of the Branch Trade Union of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, Kusein Yesengazin, expressed readiness to support the new trade union cell.
According to him, the Branch Trade Union will make every effort to improve the socio-economic situation of employees and personally take part in solving current issues.
Chairman of the trade union center of Aktobe region Altynbek Amirgaliyev said that negotiations with the employer on all issues of the agenda are underway today.
“If the issue of signing a collective agreement is not resolved, we will submit it to the regional trilateral commission for consideration,” the chairman of the Trade Union Center assured.
Summing up the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the FTURK Nurlan Uteshev stressed the importance of the issues raised by the members of the trade union.
“The issues of creating decent and safe working conditions, increasing workers’ wages and other measures to protect labor rights and interests of the Labor Person are reflected in the Strategy of the Federation of Trade Unions “In Unity for Justice and Development”. We are working and will continue to work on finding solutions to all the pressing issues of ordinary workers within the framework of the law,” said the Deputy Chairman of the FTURK.
Nurlan Uteshev also called on trade union members and professional leaders to take an active part in FTURK educational seminars aimed at forming a high level of legal culture of trade union personnel.
