FTURK AND HAK-IS WILL JOINTLY PROMOTE THE PRINCIPLES OF SOCIAL JUSTICE

An agreement on cooperation between the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Confederation of Trade Unions HAK-IS (Republic of Turkey) was signed in Ankara as part of the working visit of the delegation of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Chairman Satybaldy Dauletalin.

The document was signed by the heads of the two largest trade unions of Kazakhstan and Turkey – the Chairman of the FTURK Satybaldy Dauletalin and the President of the Confederation of Trade Unions HAK-IS Mahmoud Arslan.

According to the document, the parties agreed to jointly implement the principles of promoting decent work and social justice.

Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin acquainted the Turkish colleagues with the main activities of the Federation of Trade Unions, in particular on measures to solve urgent problems in the social and labor sphere based on further strengthening and development of social partnership within the framework of the Year of Social Partnership announced by the General Council of the FTURK. He noted the importance of expanding cooperation between the republican associations of trade unions of Kazakhstan and Turkey.

“Common roots and common history of our peoples are important for trade unions of Kazakhstan. Appreciating the relations between our countries, the Federation of Trade Unions intends to contribute to their further dynamic development. The establishment of bilateral cooperation with Turkish trade unions is an element of “people’s diplomacy”, which is inherent in the people of Kazakhstan. Turkey is one of Kazakhstan’s reliable partners in the political and economic spheres. The trade unions of Kazakhstan will contribute to strengthening fraternity and cooperation with Turkish trade unions for the benefit of the workers of the two states,” Satybaldy Dauletalin said.

For his part, the President of the Confederation of Trade Unions HAK-IS Mahmoud Arslan assured of the support of the Turkish trade unions of the intentions of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in restoring membership in the International Confederation of Trade Unions.

The heads of the two national trade union centers discussed topical issues of the trade union agenda. The Turkish side also submitted for consideration the issue of creating an association of trade unions of Turkic-speaking countries. The parties agreed on a detailed discussion of this initiative.

Further development of cooperation between Kazakh and Turkish trade unions was continued in the framework of meetings with Vice-President of HAK-IS, President of the branch trade union of metallurgists Yunus Degirmenci, President of the branch trade union of healthcare Devlet Sert, head of the Association of Artisans ESDER Mahmut Celikus, Mayor of the district Kesioner G.Ankara by Turgut Altinok.

Recall that a delegation of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan is in Ankara on a working trip. Negotiations of the Kazakh delegation with the leadership of the TÜRK-IŞ Confederation are also planned during the visit.
