THE DELEGATION OF THE EURASIAN FEDERATION OF METALWORKERS PAID A WORKING VISIT TO KAZAKHSTAN

On May 26 of this year, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin held a meeting with delegates of the International Eurasian Federation of Metalworkers (MEFM, Ankara) headed by MEFM Secretary General Yusuf Zia Odabash and his Deputy Turanjon Raupov.
Welcoming the international delegation, the Head of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan told the guests about the results of his working visit to Turkey, which took place in the middle of April this year.

Satybaldy Dauletalin noted that during the working visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Confederation of Trade Unions HAK-IS (Republic of Turkey). According to the document, the parties agreed to jointly implement the principles of promoting decent work and social justice.

“The common roots and the common history of our peoples are important for the trade unions of Kazakhstan. Appreciating the relations between our countries, the Federation of Trade Unions intends to contribute to their further dynamic development. The establishment of bilateral cooperation with Turkish trade unions is an element of “people’s diplomacy”, which is inherent in the people of Kazakhstan. Turkey is one of Kazakhstan’s reliable partners in the political and economic spheres. The trade unions of Kazakhstan will contribute to strengthening fraternity and cooperation with Turkish trade unions for the benefit of the workers of the two states,” Satybaldy Dauletalin stressed.
Also during the meeting with the Delegation of the Eurasian Metalworkers Federation, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and further development. The participants of the meeting noted that Kazakh-Turkish relations have deep historical roots.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the trade union activists of the member organizations of the FTURK – branch trade unions.

Welcoming the foreign guests, Chairman of the Branch Mining and Metallurgical Trade Union “Kazprofmetall” Asylbek Nuralin noted that the trade union “Kazprofmetall” has been a member organization of the MEFM for almost 30 years, today it has more than 10 million members in 19 countries and there is every reason to assert that our successful cooperation with fraternal branch trade unions continues.

This is evidenced by the continuous process of exchange of experience, training of the professional assets of the Kazprofmetal branch trade union, participation in congresses of women workers of Türk Metal, organization of festivals and recreation for Kazakhstani children in the best boarding houses of TürkMetal and other joint events under the auspices of MEFM.

The Secretary General of the MEFM, Yusuf Zia Odabash, a former metallurgist himself, spoke about the principles of the Turkish metalworkers’ union and, for his part, assured that despite the post-pandemic crisis, the difficult geopolitical situation and other challenges, they will provide all possible assistance and fulfill their partnership obligations to the Branch trade unions-MEFM member organizations.

The parties discussed a joint action plan for the near future and prospects for further cooperation.
