THE ITUC – THE FRURK CONGRESS STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH FOREIGN PARTNERS

The official delegation of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Chairman Satybaldy Dauletalin, is taking part in the V Congress of the International Trade Union Confederation, which is taking place these days in Melbourne (Australia).

The discussion of the draft Declaration on the New Social Contract continued this morning. In the afternoon, the Kazakh delegation took part in the Forum “Technologies and their impact on work”, held within the framework of the ITUC Congress.

During the Congress, the Chairman of the FTURK Satybaldy Dauletalin held a number of meetings with foreign partners – heads of national trade union centers.

Chairman of the Turkish trade union Hak-is Mahmoud Arslan congratulated Satybaldy Dauletalin on the restoration of membership of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the ITUC. The parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation and developing joint projects. The Turkish trade union leader expressed support for the democratic transformations taking place in the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Further cooperation within the framework of the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asian Countries (SPECA) was discussed during the meeting of the Chairman of the FTURK Satybalda Dauletalin with the Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Mongolia, Erdenebat Sukhbaatar. Recall that the regional trade union organization – the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asian countries was established in 2021 on the initiative of the national trade union centers of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. In September of this year, at the II meeting of the Council members, it was decided to include new members in the organization – the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Mongolia, according to their previously submitted applications. The Chairman of the FTURK Satybaldy Dauletalin was elected as the General Secretary of the SPECA.

The issue of expanding cooperation and strengthening ties between trade unions was also discussed during the negotiations of the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Satybalda Dauletalin with the President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Albania Gezim Kalaja. The Albanian professional leader asked for assistance in developing cooperation with members of the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asian countries. The parties also agreed on mutual visits and the development of further cooperation.

Recall that the V Congress of the International Trade Union Confederation is being held in Melbourne from November 17 to 22. More than a thousand trade union leaders and activists representing 300 national trade union centers and uniting about 200 million workers worldwide gathered to discuss the global agenda and adopt a Declaration on a New social Contract. On the first day of the Congress, the General Council of the ITUC decided to restore the membership of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
