in connection with the elections of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and maslikhats
Starting from 2022, fundamental changes in political life are taking place in Kazakhstan, the results of which were a referendum on changing the country’s Constitution, the election of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as President, and the renewal of the composition of the Senate of the Parliament.
On March 19, 2023, elections of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and maslikhats of all levels will be held. Free and fair elections are an important component of building a Fair Kazakhstan, serve as a means of increasing the confidence of civil society in the political system.
The future development of the country for the next five years will depend on the future deputies, their competence, professionalism and decency.
The elections of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and maslikhats should consolidate our society, unite all those who want to build a Fair Kazakhstan. We will come to justice and development only in unity!
One of the features of the upcoming election cycle is that the process of party building is actively continuing in the country, voters will have a difficult choice which candidates and which party to support in the elections.
Therefore, we appeal to all political parties to orient their goals in election programs to promote social justice, achieve decent work, and improve the well-being of the inhabitants of our country.
As institutional representatives of the interests of employees both in the labor market and in society as a whole, we cannot stand aside at this critical stage of the development of the state. We have never been indifferent to how Kazakhstan will develop.
Our goal is to build a fair social state based on workers.
The key guidelines of the Federation of Trade Unions are to improve the welfare of workers and their families through the formation of a fair economy.
We must use every opportunity to adopt laws that ensure a decent life for those who work honestly.
In this regard, the Federation of Trade Unions will form a pool of candidates for deputies from trade unions and create a Headquarters to support trade union candidates.
Our candidates will go to the elections with the election platform “Trade Unions for Justice!” in order to get mandates in representative bodies of state power, to become a full-fledged trade union lobby capable of protecting the rights and interests of workers, not in words, but in deeds.
Therefore, trade union organizations that are part of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan need to use the upcoming election campaign to promote trade union ideology, attract new members and allies to their ranks, as well as to solve the following main tasks:
expansion of support for trade union interests, their legislative initiatives and decisions in representative bodies;
election of trade union activists and leaders as deputies of the Mazhilis and maslikhats of all levels;
formation of public opinion on acute socio-labor, economic and political issues affecting the rights and interests of a Labor person and his family members;
strengthening the position of trade unions in labor collectives.
The Federation of Trade Unions calls on all trade union members and workers to take an active part in the upcoming elections of deputies of the Mazhilis and maslikhats, to support worthy candidates – those who are with you, those who defend the rights and interests of a Person of Labor!
