SATYBALDY DAULETALIN: “THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPECA ACTIVITIES IS AIMED AT IMPROVING THE WELFARE OF MORE THAN 15 MILLION WORKERS IN CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES”

Within the framework of the International Conference on: “Trade Unions at a crossroads”, organized by the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan jointly with the ILO, the Secretary General of the SPECA – Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin held a working meeting with the heads of national trade union centers – members of the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asian countries – Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan Maliksho Nematzoda and Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Mahmadaliyev.

The members of the Council outlined plans for joint work aimed at further integration of national professional centers in the development of common approaches to improve social and labor relations in the SPECA member countries, the development of cultural, sports and recreation cooperation and the expansion of the geography of the structure.

The head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, who chairs the SPECA, focused on the main activities of the Council this year.

“Within the framework of the upcoming Sub-regional Trade Union Forum of Central Asian countries, we need to discuss and develop common approaches on topical issues of the trade union agenda. The national trade union centers – members of the SPCA need to present a coordinated position on topical international topics of trade union activity,” said Satybaldy Dauletalin.

At the suggestion of the Secretary General of SPECA, it is planned to develop a single information and communication resource of the structure.

“The development of the activities of the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asian Countries is aimed at improving the well–being of more than 15 million workers of Central Asian countries and will strengthen solidarity in striving for decent work standards and fair wages for it, solving labor migration issues, common problems of ensuring safety and labor protection,” Satybaldy Dauletalin stressed during the meeting.

The participants of the meeting supported the initiatives of the Secretary General of SPECA, noting the readiness to consolidate efforts for their implementation.

At the Conference, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin also discussed with the Deputy Chairman of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan Sapar Ataberdiyev the prospects of joining the SPCA.
