On June 5, as part of the Year of Safe Work for the trade union activists of the Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions, the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an online seminar as part of the Educational Marathon. The seminar was devoted to the analysis of the system of labor protection and accounting for accidents at work.
The speaker of the seminar was Marat Imash, Head of the Department for Occupational Safety and Health, Prevention and Resolution of Labor Disputes of the Committee for Social and Economic Relations and Social Partnership of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He presented a detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the national labor protection system, and also spoke about the implementation of the “Concept of safe labor in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030” and an overview of international experience in this area. Particular attention was paid to monitoring compliance with safety and labor protection standards in practice, as well as problems related to state, public and internal control.
Bolen Hanseyt, head of the department of the Committee on socio-economic relations and social partnership of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke at the seminar with a report on “Recording and Investigation of Industrial Accidents”.
He drew the attention of the participants to the peculiarities of the application of labor legislation in the investigation of accidents, the need for prompt measures to preserve the health of workers, as well as recording and reporting to the relevant authorities.
Representatives of trade unions of Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions, who took part in the seminar, expressed their gratitude to the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for organizing the educational marathon, as well as to the project coordinator and speakers for the professional conduct of the training seminar. They emphasized the relevance of the topics discussed and wished everyone health, safety and the development of a positive culture of labor protection.
