The trade unions of Kazakhstan and China intend to strengthen further cooperation  

On June 6, the delegation of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Chairman Satybaldy Dauletalin, participated in a meeting with the Director-General of the International Labour Organization, Gilbert Houngbo, along with participants of the 112th session of the International Labour Conference.

The ILO head informed the conference delegates about the main directions of the International Labour Organization’s activities and emphasized the importance of developing tripartite social dialogue at the national levels to jointly promote the values of the new social contract.

On the sidelines of the conference, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Satybaldy Dauletalin, and the Deputy Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), Wei Dichun.

The parties exchanged views on current issues on the labor agenda and discussed directions for developing bilateral cooperation between the national trade union centers of Kazakhstan and China.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, Satybaldy Dauletalin, noted the traditions of good-neighborliness between the trade unions of the two countries.

“Thanks to the contribution of the workers of our countries, the border of more than 1,700 kilometers has become a bridge of good-neighborliness and friendship between the two peoples. As good neighbors, we actively cooperate in exchanging experience and information and strive to further strengthen ties and fruitful cooperation in protecting the labor and economic rights and interests of the workers of our countries,” emphasized the Chairman of the FTURK.

One of the proposals for continuing the exchange of experiences was the invitation for the Chairman of the FTURK to visit Kazakhstan and familiarize himself with the activities of trade union organizations operating at Kazakh-Chinese enterprises and their experience in social partnership.

In turn, the Deputy Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, Wei Dichun, thanked his Kazakh colleague for the invitation, noting the importance of strengthening the foundation of friendship and mutual assistance.

“The All-China Federation of Trade Unions prioritizes the welfare of workers and the development of international relations. The trade unions of China and Kazakhstan are good partners with common goals and priorities. The Chinese trade union values its friendly relations with the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan and welcomes the joint efforts to improve the well-being of workers in both countries,” emphasized Wei Dichun.

At the end of the meeting, both parties confirmed their intention to expand bilateral cooperation between the trade unions of Kazakhstan and China and to jointly promote trade union ideas for protecting workers’ rights and interests, ensuring decent work principles, and social justice.
