Today, on April 6, a training seminar for employers and employees on effective prevention and settlement of collective labor disputes was held in the Mangystau region within the framework of the new educational project of the FTURK.
The training was organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the social partners of the region – Akimat and employers of Mangystau region.
The seminar was attended by the heads and professional activity of the companies JSC “Mangistaumunaigas”, LLP “Karakudukmunai”, LLP “Munaytelekom”, JSC “Kaztransoil”, MAEK “Kazatomprom”, LLP “Technotrading”, JSC “Mangistau EBK”, LLP JV “Arman”, LLP “Corporation OilTransport”, LLP “OilServisKompany” and others.
The two-day seminar started its work in Aktau and will continue in Zhanaozen.
According to the organizers, the decision to hold a training seminar by the Federation of Trade Unions was made during the working visit of the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan Satybalda Dauletalin to the Mangystau region on March 14-15 at the suggestion of the akim of the region, as well as representatives of employers.
Opening the seminar, the chairman of the Trade Union Center of Mangystau region Shadrach Yermekbayuly stressed the importance of measures to improve the professional skills of trade union personnel.
“Thanks to the training seminars, trade union members, trade unions and social partners have an excellent opportunity to increase their knowledge of the methods of regulating labor relations and successfully apply them in their work,” he said.
The lecturer of the seminar – Deputy Director of the Department of Organizational and Control Work of the FTURK Lyazzat Eszhanova acquainted the participants with the legal foundations of the trade union movement. The speaker also revealed the issue of the attractiveness of trade union membership.
The training was continued by business coach, expert in the field of management, psychology and organizational effectiveness Yerlan Mustafin.
The seminar was held in an interactive format, the listeners actively engaged in the dialogue and received detailed answers to many topical questions.
In addition, the participants reviewed a number of case situations from practical experience and discussed possible ways to resolve disputes.
During the work, the participants managed to reach consensus through negotiations using such tools as alternative dispute resolution, comparative analysis, requirements and algorithms for deciding on the use of compromise processes, the process of preparing for the process and support.
The speakers of the seminar spoke in detail about the issues of the formation of the conciliation commission, the development of negotiation techniques, negotiation styles, etc.
Representatives of employers and trade union activists who took part in the training expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the initiative to organize the seminar, as well as experts for the accessibility, content and high quality of the material presented.
Rakhimzhan Zhupbanov, Deputy Chairman of the Workers’ Union of LLP “JV “SASRI BITUM”, noted the high level of the event.
“For two years during the pandemic, all seminars were held in an online format. However, we have offered to resume training in offline mode. We need to constantly update our skills and improve our competencies. There, with the help of the trade union, I shared my experience of reaching a peace agreement with the employer,” Rahimzhan Zhupbanov said.
It should be noted that not only trade union members participate in the new educational project, but also representatives of social partners – representatives of employers and local executive bodies. The project will continue to work in all regions of the country.
Recall that in 2021, the Federation of Trade Unions took a number of measures aimed at improving the level of trade union education.
In-depth courses of training seminar programs have been developed for various categories of trade union workers and activists, defining a wide range of areas of trade union training. A pool of lecturers was formed from among the experienced employees of the Federation of Trade Unions and its member organizations.
In 2021, 619 training seminars were held with the participation of 38,044 trade union members. Within the framework of the Trade Union Educational Marathon, 89 training seminars were held covering 17 regions of the country and 18 branch trade unions, in which 10,250 representatives of the trade union movement took part.
In addition, in April of this year, the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan will launch another educational project – the School of the Trade Union Leader.
