The participants of the latest seminar of the Trade Union Leader School dedicated to the issues of information policy of the Federation of Trade Unions and its member organizations have studied new trends in information work.
The main objective of the seminar was to establish a well-functioning information system, discuss and exchange experiences in the field of information work, and develop a unified strategy for positioning trade union organizations.
Greetings to the participants, the author and coordinator of the project – Deputy Director of the Department of Communications and Public Relations of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lyazzat Yeszhanova, noted that modern trade unions should prioritize the public interest and respond to social demands. She called upon the participants to actively engage in the information space and carry out their work.
The director of the Media Center of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulmira Karakozova, familiarized the participants with the key aspects of the Concept of Information Policy of the Federation of Trade Unions.
She noted that in recent years, the information work of the Federation of Trade Unions and its member organizations has reached a new level and progressively developed. This includes the corporate website, the newspaper, and the video projects of KasipodaqMedia studio.
The information work is systematically enriched with new sections, thematic campaigns, and the work of press secretaries has been established in all regions of the country.
Gulmira Karakozova informed the participants about the main directions and principles of information support for the activities of trade unions, as well as effective methods of strengthening interaction with the mass media.
“Information work is an integral part of the activities of any trade union organization. Trade unions must take an active position in matters of information work. We must inform the general public about our activities and position them correctly,” emphasized Gulmira Karakozova, Director of the Media Center of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the seminar, principles and methods of work, creative approaches to presenting and formatting information about trade union activities were discussed, aimed at attracting public interest.
In her presentation, Gulmira Karakozova provided detailed recommendations and modern approaches at all stages of information work, from developing a Media Plan to monitoring materials published in the media.
The seminar was continued by the Chief Expert of the Media Center of the Federation of Trade Unions, Lina Saktaganova, who familiarized the participants with certain aspects of working with texts and the possibilities of creating relevant news content for the mass media.
The seminar extensively covered topics that should be addressed and would be interesting to the audience, methods and channels of information dissemination, as well as practical challenges and opportunities in public relations work.
Special emphasis was placed on the ability to create newsworthy information, work with it, and recommendations were given for effective text presentation.
“The topics raised by trade union organizations are always relevant, and with the right presentation, they will be interesting not only to the target audience but also beyond it. The demand for unique content today dictates new rules, and the trade union agenda has tremendous potential,” emphasized the speaker.
During the seminar, participants had practical experience in conducting information work and creating newsworthy events. They received answers to questions on how to effectively carry out information work, actively engage in social media, and involve people in trade union online communities.
