On June 22, Astana hosted a meeting of the General Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan under the chairmanship of the FPRK Bakytzhan Abdіrayim.
The participants of the Council considered the issues as improvement of organizational and legal activities of the Federation and the Territorial Unions of trade union organizations. Among the discussed issues were following as the admission to the FPRK 4 new trade unions: information workers, communication, forestry and wildlife workers, trade union of repair enterprises of transport “Kamkor Highway” and employees of the health care system «Senim».
A new staff of the Executive Committee has been elected with the expansion of branch trade union representation.
Also the articles of the charter of the FPRK and the model charter of the Territorial Associations of trade unions on the list of statistical reports submitted by the member organizations, on the unified procedure for the payment of membership union dues were discussed.
Within the framework of the Meeting of the General Council, the results of the trade union competition among the territorial associations of trade unions on holding the day of trade unions of Kazakhstan were approved.
By the decision of the Commission on the basis of reports, publications in mass media and in social networks the first place was awarded the South Kazakhstan region, the second place was divided between trades of the Zhambyl and Karaganda regions, in the third place – trades of Mangystau region and the city of Almaty.
The participants of the General Council have decided to address the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a proposal to include in the list of festive dates the Trade Union Day in Kazakhstan (the 10th of October every year).
Also at the meeting proposals on mechanisms for improving international cooperation with trade union and labour organizations and the convening of an extraordinary congress of the FPRK were discussed.
