The Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan is following closely the events related to the trial against Erlan Baltabay.
The Federation of trade unions was encouraged by the President`s decision to release E. Baltabay in August this year, believing that is a continuation of the course of the country aimed at strengthening dialogue between civil society and the State.
We recognize the rule of law and protect the rights and interests of working people within the legal framework and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In accordance with the standards of national and international law and principles of trade union solidarity and involvement, the Federation of Trade Unions always stands for social justice, building constructive dialogue and reducing conflicts in society.
In view of the foregoing, the Federation of Trade Unions expresses its concern over the situation regarding Erlan Baltabay and calls the authorized bodies of Kazakhstan to take all necessary measures to objective and comprehensive consideration of the case in accordance with the existing legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
