ISSUES OF SOCIAL PARTNERSHIP WERE DISCUSSED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE FTURK AND THE HEAD OF THE MINISTRY OF LABOR

On May 8, 2020, Nur-Sultan hosted a meeting of the FTURK Chairman Satybaldy Dauletalin with a social partner – the Minister of labor and social protection of the population of Kazakhstan Birzhan Nurymbetov.

The Chairman of the Federation of trade unions informed the Minister about the work of trade unions to develop a draft concept for a new General Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Republican associations of employees and Republican associations of employers. The parties agreed to start working together to review the draft of the new General agreement in June this year.

Special attention was paid to improving the work of the Republican tripartite Commission on social partnership and regulation of social and labor relations.

The sides discussed issues of creation of new jobs, the implementation of the roadmap of employment security and labor protection, compliance with labor legislation, etc.

During the meeting, they also exchanged views on improving labor legislation, labor remuneration, including raising the minimum wage, indexing wages, improving the living wage, and moving to a rational consumer budget.

Chairman of the FTURK S. Dauletalin also raised the issue of the need to ratify the ILO conventions and provide timely and competent information on our country in the framework of the implementation of international labor standards.

The Minister of labor and social protection of the population of Kazakhstan Birzhan Nurymbetov said, the relevance of the issues discussed and the need for the development of social dialogue in solving problems in social-labor sphere.

The parties agreed to hold regular bilateral meetings on topical issues of the social and labor sphere.
