REPRESENTATIVES OF TRADE UNION ORGANIZATIONS JOINED THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND SOCIAL PROTECTION RK

The Ministry of labour and social protection of population of Kazakhstan held a meeting of the working group on the formation of the Public Council on social and labor affairs.

During the meeting, chaired by the head of the Working group – the Minister of labor and social protection of the population Birzhan Nurymbetov, the participants reviewed the candidates from non-profit organizations and civil society via videoconference.

As noted, the composition of the Public Council is formed on a competitive basis from the representatives of State bodies, non-profit organizations and citizens in accordance with procedure established by the Law “On Public Council”.

The admission for the competition started on 4 May and lasted until 19 May 2020.

Proposals from non-profit organizations and citizens ‘ applications for candidacy to the Public Council were sent in writing, indicating information on the candidate’s professional or social activities, autobiographical data and documents confirming their compliance with the established requirements.

During the consideration of the applications, the members of the Working group conducted an open ballot for each candidate.

On the basis of the results of the vote, 12 of the 19 applicants, including the trade union representatives who obtained the most votes, were confirmed as members of the Public Council of the Minister of labor and social protection of the population.

The Chairman of the Kazakhstan branch trade Union of power engineers, member of the General Council of the FPRK Orazbek Bekbas was elected as a member of the Public Council of the Federation of trade unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Industry trade unions will be represented in the Advisory body by the Chairman of the Kazakhstan trade Union of education and science workers Aigul Mukasheva and the Chairman of the Industry mining and metallurgical trade Union “Kazprofmetall” Asylbek Nuralin.

According to the newly elected members, the participation of trade Union leaders in the work of the Council is intended to provide an effective platform for the implementation of trade Union movement initiatives to protect the rights and interests of workers, as well as other socially significant issues in the social and labor sphere.
