First Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Mukhtar Tinikeyev met with members of the primary trade union organization of the Aksu Ferroalloy Plant of JSC “TNK” Kazchrom “in the video-conference format as part of the FPRK campaign “How do you live, primary?”.

The trade union organization at the Aksu Ferroalloy Plant of JSC “TNK “Kazchrom” was organized in 1967 and today it includes 100 percent of the plant’s employees — 6410 people.

Introducing the participants of the meeting, the chairman of the Territorial Association of Trade Unions of the Pavlodar region Dinara Aitzhanova noted the importance of the initiative of the Federation of Trade Unions to hold meetings of the leadership of the FPRK with representatives of primary trade union organizations on the ground.

“In the Year of the Primary Trade union Organization, the meeting of the leadership of the FPRK with the primary trade union organization of the Aksu Ferroalloy Plant of JSC TNK Kazchrom is very significant. There is a huge experience of trade union work, the level of social partnership is highly raised. The chairman of the primary trade union organization is Nikolay Sukhoterin, who has been the head of the primary trade union organization of the plant since 1996, and is a delegate to all the Congresses of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” Dinara Aitzhanova said.

In his speech, Nikolay Sukhoterin spoke about the work of the trade union committee of the plant in the following areas: creating decent working conditions, public control over safety and labor protection by technical inspectors, work to monitor the implementation of the collective agreement, support for veterans and youth initiatives, work as part of the conciliation commission and the production council, support for large families.

According to him, within the framework of the current collective agreement, a one-time allowance is paid to orphans who entered the plant in the amount of 20 MCI; by September 1, employees of the plant with four or more children receive financial assistance in the amount of 10 MCI per student; by September 1, families of employees who died at work receive financial assistance; monthly employees with dependent disabled children under the age of 18 receive an allowance in the amount of 10 MCI and other social benefits.

Linar Rakhadilov, a specialist in labor protection, spoke about the experience of trade unions in the composition of the production council. According to him, the public control over safe conditions and labor protection at the enterprise is carried out by 93 technical labor protection inspectors. Their activities allowed us to have a positive impact on the dynamics of occupational injuries.

During the meeting, the labor collective received a question about reducing the retirement age earlier than the generally established age for employees of the mining and metallurgical industry, namely, about the possibility of returning to the list No. 1 for the retirement of metallurgists working in particularly harmful and particularly dangerous working conditions at the age of 50 and to the list No. 2 for the retirement of metallurgists working in jobs with harmful and difficult working conditions at the age of 55.

Answering this question, the First Deputy Chairman of the FPRK, Mukhtar Tinikeev, noted that the issue of revising the retirement age for employees of the mining and metallurgical industry is one of the most urgent.

“In the Strategy adopted at the 26th congress, we noted that the Federation of Trade Unions will raise the issue of reducing the retirement age for employees of the mining and metallurgical industry before the Government. You know that for the first time, three trade union leaders from our trade unions have been elected as deputies of the Mazhilis, and we will put this issue on the agenda through their deputy requests. I believe that the country has internal reserves. The Federation of Trade Unions supports the issue of reducing the retirement age, so we draw the Government’s attention to metallurgists and miners, ” Mukhtar Tinikeev stressed.

The First Deputy Chairman of the FPRK also noted that the Federation of Trade Unions has established several working groups to develop proposals for amendments and additions to the labor legislation and other legislative acts related to social and labor relations.

In turn, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva noted the relevance of such meetings and spoke about the joint work with the Federation of Trade Unions to improve the legislative framework in the labor sphere.

“Almost 90 percent of the amendments made by the working group to the Labor Code are on the side of the employee. We also consider proposals from the field and are ready for joint discussion of changes and additions with employees of real sector enterprises. In metallurgical production, there are special working conditions in which employees work in conditions of particularly harmful and particularly dangerous production. Therefore, the question of reducing the retirement age for these categories of employees sounds relevant. The Federation of Trade Unions will not stop raising this issue. Today, we insist on the return of the pension annuity, lowering the thresholds, ” Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva stressed.

Igor Kuleshov, Deputy Director of the Aksu Ferroalloy Plant of JSC TNK Kazchrome, spoke about the development of social partnership, interaction with the trade union, and its role in the life of the labor collective.

“A special protective role of employees in all areas of social partnership development is played by the elected trade union committee, the results of which are one hundred percent trust of workers and one hundred percent membership in the primary trade union organization of the entire labor collective. All important decisions for the team are made by the employer in partnership with the trade union,” said Igor Kuleshov.

Deputy Chairman of the branch trade union, deputy of the regional maslikhat Raushan Daumova highly noted the importance of developing social partnership within one particular enterprise.

Summing up the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Mukhtar Tinikeev noted the importance of active work of trade unions with social partners to preserve social and labor stability, develop social partnership, and fulfill the tasks set in the General Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Republican Associations of Employers and Republican Associations of Trade Unions for 2021-2023.
