TRADE UNIONS ADVOCATE THE ELIMINATION OF ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

The Commission for Working Women of the Territorial Association of Pavlodar region called for active measures to eliminate violence against women.

On November 25, 2021, within the framework of the “16 days without Violence” Campaign, the Commission for Working Women of the Territorial Association of Pavlodar region considered issues of safety and protection of women from all forms of violence.

“Trade unions stand for a sphere of work free from violence and harassment, for the eradication of all forms of violence against women, freedom and inviolability of the individual”,- noted R.Zh.Daumova

The head of the Reconciliation Center “Tatulasu Ortalygy” of the Territorial Association of Trade Unions of the Pavlodar region, M.A. Ivanova, in her speech noted: “The Republican action “16 Days of Active Actions against Gender-based Violence” has been held annually from November 25 to December 10 since 1999 – the date of the establishment by the United Nations of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The action ends on December 10 on the International Day of Human Rights to Life, Freedom and Inviolability of the Individual.

The activities of the Commission for Working Women of the Pavlodar region are aimed at active actions to support women who have fallen into a difficult life situation.

Many years of positive experience of cooperation connects the Territorial Association of the Pavlodar region with the MPUI “Pavlodar City Center for Socio-Psychological Rehabilitation and Adaptation of Women with Children”, constant legal support is provided, consultations are held in the “Family PSC”. The Commission for Working Women of the Territorial Association of Trade Unions of the Pavlodar region is carrying out multifaceted work to support working mothers with many children, mothers raising children with special needs.”

The participants of the event – members of the Commission on Working Women’s Affairs, representing the labor collectives of enterprises in the region, exchanged professional experience of public work on countering violence and helping women in need of social support.
