Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Satybaldy Dauletalin met with working youth at the Republican Youth Forum “Өзгерісті өзіңнен баста!” (Start the changes with yourself) in Shchuchinsk.
During the two-day event, the winners of the project “30 еңбек елшісі”, the chairmen of the branch and regional youth councils “Keleshek” from all over the country, as well as trade union activists discussed topical issues of trade union activity of youth.
The chairman of the Youth Council “Келешек”, Daria Khamitzhanova, noted that during the forum, young professional leaders adopted an appeal to the working youth of Kazakhstan under the slogan “Өзгерісті өзіңнен баста!”.
Based on the experience of the older generation, young professional leaders asked the Chairman of the FTURK to give a parting word to young participants of the trade union movement.
“Always be self-confident, at the same time demanding, do not overestimate your strength. You need to listen to the advice of adults, you need to be able to think critically yourself. You will learn more if you pass everything through yourself. We live in an era of change – it’s a time of opportunity for young people. The youth community will easily overcome the current challenges. You think differently, you are well versed in modern technologies and trends. You have a great future. As young trade union leaders, you should always remember yourself an important principle for trade unions – the achievement of social justice,” said Satybaldy Dauletalin.
According to the Chairman of the FTURK, trade unions should be at the forefront in creating a new Kazakhstan. Currently, the Federation of Trade Unions is initiating a number of measures aimed at ensuring decent wages and creating decent working conditions in the country, proposing new mechanisms for regulating the minimum wage and increasing incomes of the population.
“About 154 thousand collective agreements have been signed in the country. To date, we have proposed to the Government to improve the system of monitoring collective agreements. It is this document that allows everyone to take part in the formation and improvement of labor relations at the enterprise,” said the Chairman of the FTURK Satybaldy Dauletalin.
He also stressed the importance of activating the activities of young professional leaders in their primary trade union organizations.
During the meeting, the winner of the republican project of the Federation of Trade Unions “30 ambassadors of Labor”, Chairman of the Bayzak district branch of the local trade union of Education and Science of Zhambyl region Elnurbek Ermekov proposed to continue the project “30 ambassadors of labor”, and to hold an annual stimulating month to expand the membership base of the trade union, the development of the personnel reserve among the younger generation of trade unions.
In turn, the crane operator of the metallurgical production of the Aksu ferroalloy plant of JSC TNK Kazchrome in the Pavlodar region, Zarina Abikenova, shared the specifics of her work.
“I have been working as a crane operator in the melting shop of the Aksu ferroalloy Plant for 8 years. My profession requires great care, high accuracy and skill. We work at an altitude of about 100 meters. It is rare to meet women working in this field. Since 2014, I not only work at the factory, but also actively participate in trade union activities. In the Pavlodar regional Commission on the Rights of Working Women at the trade union Center, we raise issues related to working conditions. I am glad that this forum has become a platform for discussions. Yesterday, at a meeting with a deputy of the Mazhilis, I raised the issue of lowering the retirement age of employees of our profession. I want to thank the organizers for such a platform for discussion,” Zarina Abikenova said.
Alibek Kurmantai, who helped evacuate passengers at Almaty airport during the January events, also spoke at the forum.
Since 2014, Alibek has been a senior inspector of the Aviation Security Service of Almaty International Airport JSC and a member of the Executive Committee of the local trade union at the airport.
The author of the Youtube channel “Kaska Zhol” Abay Tlenshiev, Chairman of the Youth Council of the Nuclear Industry Workers’ Union Aizara Yusupova and other participants shared their opinion on the promotion of trade union values during the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Satybaldy Dauletalin noted that the dedication and hard work of young professional activists is worthy of the highest respect and is a good example for Kazakh youth.
Recall that the youth forum was held for two days. On the first day of the forum, trade union youth were welcomed by Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Uteshev, who noted the need to involve young people in trade union activities and increase their activity.
Then a discussion forum “100 questions to the deputy” was held with the participation of Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Expert Council of the Federation of Trade Unions Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva.
Over the course of two days, young professional leaders exchanged practical experience, discussed topical issues of the trade union movement and mastered modern methods of communication, as well as took part in trainings on the settlement of labor disputes and solving important social and labor issues.
