18-year-old Vladimir Tsvigun, a student of the Ural Technological College “Service” from an early age dreamed of learning how to cook deliciously to please his parents. However, at the age of five, he remained an orphan, and was brought up by his aunt. The guy is reserved, but purposeful. Despite the loss of the most dear people, he did not give up his dream and entered the Ural Technological College “Service” to become a qualified cook.
During a visit to a secondary special educational institution, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin, having previously learned the story of Vladimir, announced that the FTURK decided to support the young man, and handed the student a certificate for a grant for vocational education.
“The desire to become a professional in their field is a very important goal for any young person. The task of the Federation of Trade Unions, a third of whose members are the same young people, was and remains significant to support young professionals. Our trade union of education and Science workers has established a training grant for Vladimir. Cook is a responsible and necessary profession. I wish Vladimir to reach the heights in his favorite profession!”, – wished Satybaldy Dauletalin.
In turn, Vladimir Tsvigun promised that he would definitely fulfill his dream.
“Thanks to the trade union for supporting us! In ten months I will become a professional chef and I will justify my trust!” the student said.
Currently, 628 students are studying at the Ural Technological College, 599 of them by state order. They receive education in three specialties – “sewing production and fashion design”, “catering organization”, “hairdressing”.
According to Director Aigul Iskalieva, the Ural Technological College “Service” is a typical complex, where there is a dormitory for 300, an academic building, a medical complex, assembly and sports halls, a library for 50 seats and an electronic training hall for 120 seats. The educational and methodological base of the college meets international standards: 14 educational and production workshops, 28 classrooms, an educational cafe and 5 educational laboratories are equipped with modern technological equipment.
In December 2020, the college passed the institutional accreditation from the Independent Kazakhstan Center, and at the beginning of last year it received the corresponding certificate.
“The college is a participant of the Zhas Maman program. The qualifications of our students are in demand in the labor market, 80% of graduates are employed annually in their specialty. Teachers and students of the college are winners of international, republican, regional competitions, Olympiads, WorldSkills projects. We have a student self-government parliament, a volunteer group, which creates an opportunity to effectively use the intellectual potential of young people. The teaching staff is constantly improving their professional qualifications, much attention is paid to the comprehensive formation and education of students,” the director of the college shares information.
One of such teachers is Almagul Mukatayeva, a master of industrial training, a teacher-researcher. Her work experience at the Ural Technological College is 12 years. During this time, Almagul Mukatayeva has repeatedly become the winner and prize-winner of regional and republican competitions in the nominations “The best master of industrial training”, “Panorama of pedagogical ideas”, “Kolynan bal tamgan aspaz”.
The chairman of the FTURK, taking into account the contribution of the teacher to the training of professional specialists, thanked Almagul Mukatayeva and, as a reward on the trade union line, handed her a ticket to health improvement in the sanatorium “Akzhayyk”.
“The state has high hopes for the current youth, who will have to develop the economy, build the future of the country. And the upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of creative work depends on our teachers. And the task of trade unions is to provide all possible support, improving the well–being of every working person,” said Satybaldy Dauletalin.
