On Thursday, September 29, a regular meeting of members of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the leadership of the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybalda Dauletalin.
The members of the Executive Committee reviewed the immediate plans for international cooperation and intra-union activities of the FTURK and its member organizations.
As Gulnara Zhumageldiyeva, Deputy Chairman of the FTURK, informed the members of the Executive Committee, in order to implement the International Cooperation Program defined in the Federation’s Activity Strategy until 2025 and promote the principles of international cooperation, a regional conference of trade unions of Central Asian countries on the topic of trade unions “The role of trade unions in using digital transformations for the development of the labor market and ensuring decent work is scheduled for October 6-7 in Almaty labor”.
The conference is held jointly with the International Labor Organization and is devoted to the participation of trade unions in the implementation of the platform economy and the strategy of the trade union community of the region to protect the rights and interests of workers in the conditions of digitalization of the labor market in Central Asia. The members of the Executive Committee unanimously supported the program of the Regional Conference.
In turn, Deputy Chairman of the FTURK Nurlan Uteshev presented the program of the Forum of Trade Union Leaders “New Kazakhstan – New Trade Unions”, scheduled for October 10 in Astana. During the event, participants in two sections will discuss the current tasks of the trade union community on the implementation of initiatives in building a Fair Kazakhstan and new approaches in the information and explanatory work of the FTURK trade union community.
After discussing the issue of awarding the FTURK awards to the Day of Trade Unions, the members of the Executive Committee approved the results of the meeting of the award commission held on September 27.
In particular, it was decided to award Maria Helena Andre, Director of the Bureau for Workers’ Activities of ACTRAV/ILO, with the “Yntymaktastyk” medal for her contribution to the development and strengthening of international trade union solidarity, the dissemination of ideas of the world trade union movement, close cooperation with the National trade union Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the development of democratic procedures.
In addition, the members of the Executive Committee considered the development of the sanatorium-resort complex of the Federation to improve the provision of health procedures to trade union members.
In accordance with subparagraph 12) of paragraph 47 of the Charter of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Executive Committee of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to convene a meeting of the General Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 5 this year.
At the end of the Executive Committee meeting, the Chairman of the FTURK Satybaldy Dauletalin, addressing the representatives of the Federation’s member organizations, noted that the decisions taken today will allow to continue the purposeful implementation of the upcoming tasks for the further activities of trade unions and their participation in building a Fair Kazakhstan.
“We compare watches and jointly plan urgent tasks, collectively make decisions, realizing that success in promoting trade union initiatives and progressive transformations in the country depends on our solidary position. And in building a Fair Kazakhstan, we must be at the forefront,” the Chairman of the FTURK concluded.
