Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin met with delegates of the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Metallurgical and Machine-building industries of Uzbekistan “Uzmetmashsanoat”.
Satybaldy Dauletalin informed his foreign colleagues about the activities of the Federation of Trade Unions, including measures to strengthen cooperation between the trade union centers of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
“The Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan is the most massive public organization in the country, uniting in its ranks 1,627,800 trade union members in 16 thousand primary trade union organizations. Today, the Federation of Trade Unions includes 23 branch trade unions and 17 territorial unions of trade unions. Our work is being built in accordance with the Strategy of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2025 “In unity for justice and development”, approved by you at the XXVI Congress on September 2, 2020. We have chosen a clear path to protect the rights of workers to decent work, a decent life and social justice,” the Head of the FPRC stressed.
Satybaldy Dauletalin elaborated on the development of cooperation in the Central Asian region.
“The peoples of our states have common historical roots, fraternal and good-neighborly relations. Last year we signed a cooperation agreement with the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and approved a plan of joint measures to implement the Agreement. At the meeting of the Council of Trade Unions of Central Asian Countries held in September this year in the capital of Uzbekistan, the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan was unanimously elected as the chairman of the Council. The Council of Trade Unions intends to strengthen the solidarity of more than 15 million workers in the Central Asian region in pursuit of decent work standards and fair wages for it and to influence the strengthening of international trade union solidarity. Together we intend to achieve a common goal for the members of the Council – the protection of the interests and human rights of Labor. As the presiding party, we must make every effort to promote his initiatives on all platforms of the international trade union movement,” said Satybaldy Dauletalin.
Speaking about the continuation of joint work, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed about the upcoming Regional Conference of Trade Unions of Central Asian countries with the participation of representatives of the International Labor Organization, the International Union of Trade Unions, the European Branch of the International Network of Lawyers Assisting Workers (ILAW)”, as well as the National Trade Union Centers of Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, where it is planned to discuss and exchange experience in using digital transformations for the development of the labor market.
The delegates of the Uzmetmashsanoat Trade Union highly appreciated the desire of the trade unions of Kazakhstan to strengthen international relations. The guests, in turn, shared the results of their working visit to our country.
During their stay in Kazakhstan, representatives of the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Metallurgical and Machine-building Industries of Uzbekistan “Uzmetmashsanoat” signed Memorandums of cooperation with the Branch Mining and Metallurgical Trade Union “Kazprofmetall” and the Branch Trade Union of Machine Builders. Along with this, a number of meetings of Uzmetmashsanoat delegates took place with the trade union leaders of Metallurgists of the NGO “Zhaktau”, JSC “ArcelorMittal Temirtau”, the Trade Union “Altyntau” and other large enterprises of the mining and metallurgical industry.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their mutual readiness to strengthen and develop the international trade union dialogue in the interests of the workers of both countries.
