Today, as part of the republican campaign “How are you, primary?” Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Uteshev Nurlan met with members of the primary trade union organization of employees of the SCCP “Higher College of Forestry, Ecology and Tourism”, the city of Shchuchinsk, Burabay district.
Opening the meeting, Chairman of the trade union center of Akmola region Kali Rakhmetov noted that meetings within the framework of the FTURK action allow trade union members to discuss pressing issues with the leadership of the Federation of Trade Unions.
“This year, according to tradition, we continue the campaign launched last year by the Federation of Trade Unions, “How are you, primary?”, – Kali Rakhmetov stressed.
From 2020 to the present, the unfettered chairman of the primary trade union organization is Nurislamova Nadezhda. The organization has a collective agreement signed at a trade union meeting for the period from 2022 to 2025.
The work of the primary trade union organization of the HCFET is carried out in close cooperation and social partnership with the head of the college Kazakov Azamat.
During the meeting, the participants were shown an introductory video about the educational institution and a presentation about the activities of the PPO.
According to the chairman of the trade union organization HCFET, Nurislamova Nadezhda – the main task of the trade union organization is to protect labor, professional and other socio-economic rights and interests of its members. The Chairman of the PPO spoke in detail about the work of the trade union organization, about the benefits and social guarantees provided.
There are 107 people working at the State Enterprise “Higher College of Forestry, Ecology and Tourism, Shchuchinsk city, Burabay district” under the Department of Education of the Akmola region, 94% of them are members of the trade union. The trade union organization in the college has been operating since its foundation. According to her, the company has established a constructive social dialogue with the employer.
“On the part of the administration, all the requirements of the collective agreement are fulfilled in full. The employer and the trade union committee are working together to improve working conditions.” For example, there is a trade union corner, four corners on labor protection and safety, where the necessary trade union information, work plan, various regulations and instructions are placed.
The primary trade union organization has a production council, in whose activities special attention is paid to labor protection and safety.
The trade union organization of the college took an active part in the regional competition “The Best trade union organization – 2020”, where it took 2nd place, and in the regional competition “The Best technical inspector – 2021”, where it took 3rd place.
The primary trade union organization conducts sports and cultural events for members of the collective on a permanent basis, and also actively participates in the life of the entire collective.
The main directions in this work remain: protection of the rights and interests of employees, compliance with the rule of law, increasing responsibility for the results of their personal work and the work of the team as a whole.
During the meeting, the Head of the college Kazakov Azamat thanked the participants for the meeting. In his speech, he emphasized that close and business relations have developed between the college administration and the primary trade union organization as social partners. “The trade union is a bridge between employees and the employer, where social and labor guarantees of ordinary workers are provided.”.
The chairman of the NGO “Nur–Sultan and Akmola region organization of the Kazakhstan branch Professional Union of Education and Science workers” Abdrakhmanov Beysenbai, who spoke at the meeting, briefly spoke about the situation in the field of education in the region.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the NGO “Kazakhstan Branch Trade Union of Education and Science Workers” Aliya Abieva told about the measures taken by the Branch Trade Union to improve the socio-economic situation of workers.
After hearing the questions of the trade union members, the lawyer of the NGO “Kazakhstan Branch Trade Union of Education and Science Workers” Bektabanov Aidarbek assured that the Branch Trade Union will provide all possible support in solving the voiced problems. In turn, he also thanked the Federation of Trade Unions, the Trade union center of Akmola region for supporting communication and holding meetings with members of primary trade union organizations, which are productive. For example, the lawyer stated that with the support of the Trade Union Center of the Akmola region, together with employees, they achieved victories in lawsuits, which affected the increase in wages of employees and the conclusion of additional agreements.
Having familiarized with the work of the primary trade union organization, Deputy Chairman of the FTURK Uteshev Nurlan noted the high level of social responsibility of the head of the college.
“It is commendable that the institution pays special attention to the interests of employees. There is a good collective agreement. This is an indicator that the social well–being of employees is a priority for the administration,” Nurlan Uteshev stressed.
The Deputy Chairman of the FTURK told the participants about the initiatives and adopted resolutions of the Federation of Trade Unions announced at the last Solidarity Forum in Astana.
In this regard, the Federation of Trade Unions supports the ratification of ILO Convention №131 “On the Establishment of Minimum Wages with Special consideration for Developing Countries”.
At the same time, according to him, the Federation of Trade Unions at the republican level appealed to social partners with specific proposals for the legislative consolidation of the annual indexation of wages, simplification of the procedure for the nomination of workers’ claims in labor disputes, etc.
In the light of the upcoming presidential elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions informed colleagues about the Federation’s position on further actions during the electoral period, speaking in support of the candidacy of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Summing up the meeting, Nurlan Uteshev thanked the participants, speakers and organizers of the online visit for an open dialogue and informative speeches, and wished further success to the primary trade union organization.
