“HOW DO YOU LIVE, PRIMARY?”: JOINT WORK OF SOCIAL PARTNERS OF SEMIZBAY – U LLP TO IMPROVE WORKING CONDITIONS

Today, as part of the republican campaign “How are you, primary?” The First Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tinikeev, met with members of the primary trade union organization of employees of Semizbay – U LLP.

The online event was attended by Chairman of the Trade Union Center of Akmola region Kali Rakhmetov, Chairman of the Branch Trade Union of Nuclear Industry Workers – Madiyev Kasymzhan, General Director of Semizbay – U LLP – Mailybayev Almas, Chairman of the primary trade union organization of Semizbay – U LLP – Saparov Yerlan.

Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Trade Union Center of Akmola region Kali Rakhmetov noted that meetings within the framework of the action of the FPRC “How do you live primary?” allow trade union members to discuss pressing issues with labor collectives with the leadership of the Federation of Trade Unions.

The trade union organization “Semizbay – U” LLP is a part of the Branch Trade Union of Nuclear Industry Workers. The unfettered chairman of the primary trade union organization is Yerlan Saparov.

The organization has a collective agreement signed at a trade union meeting for the period from 2021 to 2023.

The work of the primary trade union organization of Semizbai – U LLP is carried out in close cooperation and social partnership with the head in the person of General Director Mailybaev Almas.

During the meeting, the participants were shown an introductory video about the company and a presentation about the activities of the PPO.

According to Yerlan Saparov, chairman of the trade union organization Semizbay – U LLP, the main task of the trade union organization is to protect labor, professional and other socio-economic rights and interests of its members. He spoke in detail about the work of the trade union organization, about the benefits and social guarantees provided.

Semizbay – U LLP employs 615 people and more than 90% of employees are members of a trade union. The trade union organization has been operating since 2016. According to him, the company has established a constructive social dialogue with the employer.

“On the part of the administration, all the requirements of the collective agreement are fulfilled in full. The employer and the trade union committee are working together to improve working conditions,” the speaker stressed.

In order to increase the interest and attract highly qualified employees, the collective agreement provides for such measures as: an allowance for a shift method of work, a bonus for a particularly important task, remuneration for a rationalization proposal, payment of social leave in the amount of salary, additional payments for work in harmful working conditions, for highly qualified workers. There are also payments of financial assistance, social guarantees in the form of bonuses, insurance of employees and family members in case of illness.

The primary trade union organization has a production council. Special attention is paid to occupational health and safety.

Almas Mailybayev, General Director of Semizbay – U LLP, thanked the participants for the meeting. In his speech, he noted that a constructive social partnership has developed between the employer and the primary trade union organization.

“The trade union is a bridge between employees and the employer, where social and labor guarantees of ordinary workers are provided,” the head of the enterprise stressed.

In turn. Chairman of the Branch Trade Union of Nuclear Industry Workers – Kasymzhan Madiyev spoke about the measures taken by the Branch Trade Union to improve the socio-economic situation of workers.

Having familiarized with the work of the primary trade union organization, the first Deputy Chairman of the FPRC Mukhtar Tinikeev noted the high level of social responsibility of the head of the enterprise.

“It is gratifying that the company pays special attention to the interests of employees. There is a good collective agreement. This is an indicator that the social well–being of employees is a priority for the administration,” Mukhtar Tinikeev stressed.

The First Deputy Chairman of the FPRC told the participants about the initiatives of the Federation of Trade Unions, resolutions adopted at the last Forum of Social Partners and the Appeal of the Federation of Trade Unions in connection with the elections of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and maslikhats.

“As institutional representatives of the interests of employees both in the labor market and in society as a whole, we cannot stand aside at this critical stage of the development of the state. We have never been indifferent to how Kazakhstan will develop. Our goal is to build a fair social state based on workers. The key guidelines of the Federation of Trade Unions are to improve the welfare of workers and their families through the formation of a fair economy. We must use every opportunity to adopt laws that ensure a decent life for those who work honestly. The Federation of Trade Unions calls on all trade union members and workers to take an active part in the upcoming elections of deputies of the Mazhilis and maslikhats, to support worthy candidates – those who are with you, those who defend the rights and interests of a Person of Labor!”, – said the First Deputy Chairman of the FPRK.

During the online meeting, the company’s employees voiced questions on assistance in lowering the retirement age for workers employed in harmful and dangerous working conditions, for participation in the housing improvement program “7-20-25” on preferential credit terms for young specialists of the uranium industry, on increasing the quota for awarding distinguished workers from the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Summing up the meeting, Mukhtar Tinikeev thanked the participants, speakers and organizers of the online visit for an open dialogue and informative speeches, wished further success to the primary trade union organization.
