EDUCATIONAL MARATHON FPRK: ANALYSIS OF THE SYSTEM OF LABOR PROTECTION, RECORDING AND INVESTIGATION OF ACCIDENTS AT PRODUCTION

In the Year of Safe Labor, as part of the educational marathon of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an online seminar was held today on the topics: “Analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the national labor protection system” and “Accounting and investigation of accidents at work” for the trade union activists of the Karaganda region and the Ulytau region in which was attended by more than 100 representatives of the territorial structures of the Branch and Local Trade Unions and the Trade Union Center.

The moderator of the seminar was Lyazzat Yeszhanova – project coordinator, deputy director of the Department of organizational and control work of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noting that the topics of today’s seminar are very relevant and aimed at increasing legal knowledge in the field of safety and labor protection, taking preventive measures to prevent accidents at work and building a positive safety culture.

Marat Imash, Head of the Department for Occupational Safety and Health, Prevention and Resolution of Labor Disputes of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, informed the participants of the seminar in detail about the analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the national labor protection system, about the implementation of the “Concept of safe labor in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030”, and also made a review of international experience in this direction. The speaker noted that, unfortunately, the Karaganda region is one of the “leaders” in terms of occupational injuries in the mining and metallurgical industry, as well as in the number of deaths at work, as a result of which it is necessary to take effective measures to strengthen state, public and internal control over safety and labor protection at enterprises and organizations of all spheres of activity.

Considering the topic “Accounting and Investigation of Industrial Accidents”, Hanseit Bolen, Head of the Department of Socio-Economic Analysis and Social Partnership of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, drew attention to the peculiarities of the application of labor legislation in the investigation of industrial accidents, the need for prompt action to preserve health employees, fixing and reporting to the authorized bodies.

The participants of the seminar considered specific practical examples of non-compliance with safety and labor protection, exchanged views on promoting the issue of maintaining the health of regressive disabled people, amending labor legislation on issues of mixed liability of the employer and employee in case of accidents at work, raising the status and continuous training of trade union technical inspectors.

At the end of the interested dialogue, the speakers answered the questions of the seminar participants on the vital topic of safety and labor protection of workers.

For use in practice, the trade union activists were provided with methodological and analytical material on the topics under consideration.

On the eve of World Day for Safety at Work, which, on the recommendation of the International Labor Organization, is celebrated annually on April 28.

Representatives of the trade unions of the Karaganda region and the Ulytau region, who took part in the seminar, thanked the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for organizing the educational marathon, the project coordinator and speakers for the highly professional conduct of the training seminar, the relevance of the topic and wished everyone good health, safe and fair work, and the development of a positive culture of protection labor!
