Istanbul hosts International Trade Union Congress

Istanbul hosts the International Congress on the topic “Human and global competition” organized by the Confederation of Trade Unions of civil servants Memur-Sen.

More than 140 confederation from approximately 90 countries of the world participate in the Congress. The Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Abdraim and the chairman of the branch trade union of state, banking institutions and public services employees Mirbolat Zhakupov take part in the forum.

The main objective of the Congress is to discuss the main problems related to trade unions in recent years such as “social dialogue”, “sustainable development”, “decent work” and “violence and harassment at work”.

In addition, the aim of the Congress is to share knowledge and experience on trade union issues in the world as well as to discuss ways and means to overcome common challenges and problems by developing joint projects and initiatives building a knowledge network among participants for sustainable cooperation.

The Confederation of Trade Unions of civil servants Memur-Sen was founded in 1995 and all its members are civil servants, the largest confederation of Turkey, which includes 997 000 people.

The Federation of Trade Unions of RK continues to establish constructive relations with representatives of the International trade union movement.

A memorandum of cooperation between FPRK and Turkish trade unions was signed. On the Kazakhstani side, the memorandum was signed by the Chairman TUFRK B. Abdraim.

It should be noted that TUFRK is preparing an event with the participation of the Central Asian trade unions to discuss together the issues of social and labour relations in the region.
