On Wednesday, December 7, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybalda Dauletalin, a regular meeting of the Executive Committee of the FTURK was held.
In accordance with the agenda, the members of the Executive Committee considered personnel issues: new heads of territorial unions of trade unions in Atyrau and Mangystau regions were elected.
After discussion of the submitted candidates, members of the executive committee and representatives of the professional activity of the regions with a probationary period of 3 months approved the candidacies for the post of chairmen of the Trade Union Center of Atyrau region – Alibek Semgaliev and the Trade Union Center of Mangystau region – Saduakas Bekgalyev.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions pointed out a number of topical issues in the regions and set specific tasks for the heads of regional structures.
“Today you have been elected with a probationary period of 3 months. In 3 months we will return to this issue and consider the effectiveness of your work in matters of consolidation and real coordination of the activities of trade union organizations in Atyrau and Mangystau regions. The tasks of eliminating existing gaps, activating trade union work in the field and building a constructive dialogue with social partners are feasible only with collective actions. Let me remind you that first of all, a trade union leader should adhere to the position of protecting the rights and interests of employees. This suggests that trade unions, acting in the legal field, should use all the opportunities provided for by labor legislation. Moreover, we must make every effort to turn the Labor Code towards the Person of Labor, but for this, we must act in unity and solidarity,” stressed Satybaldy Dauletalin.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to award the President of the Association of Trade Unions of Georgia, the President of the VERS ITUC, Vice-President of the International Confederation of Trade Unions Irakli Petriashvili with the award of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Yntymaktastyk”.
The members of the Executive Committee noted Irakli Petriashvili’s significant contribution to the development and strengthening of international trade union solidarity, dissemination of the ideas of the world trade union movement and close cooperation with the National trade union Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
After considering the issue of awarding awards to the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Independence Day of Kazakhstan, the Executive Committee approved the date of the General Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
By a unanimous decision, the members of the Executive Committee decided to convene the General Council on January 27, 2023. On this day, the governing body of the Federation of Trade Unions will summarize the results of activities for 2022, held under the auspices of the Year of Social Partnership, and will set new tasks for member organizations to further implement the Strategy of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2025 “In unity for justice and development”.
